Before she became a heartthrob of the nation with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Juhi contested for Femina Miss India and won the crown. In 1984 she went to Miami representing India at the Miss Universe Pageant. Though she did not win the title, she came back home loaded with experience, which she shared with the viewers on television.
